The Foundation for Technological Education and Research was created in 2020 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to inspire kids stuck at home. We offered virtual classes on robotics programming to engage the students and develop their interest in STEM. Since then we have expanded our efforts, recruiting more teachers, developing our curriculum, introducing new classes, and reaching further across the country. We aim to inspire the next generation in STEM careers by learning opportunities to explore the field. In the future, we plan on bringing back in-person classes to local schools and organizations, while keeping our virtual classes for those who are further away. FTER also plans on growing its community to reach more communities and even start offering research opportunities further in the future.
So far, FTER has partnered with different educational organizations to reach students in 25 states (NJ, NY, OH, PA, MA, NH, MN, TX, OK, KS, RI, CA, IL, DE, CT …). Our organization has over 2000+ collective teaching hours, guiding over 1,000 students in Robotics, Java, Python, public speaking, and Scratch. In addition, FTER has launched a program with the local education departments to provide free classes and financial assistance to students with fewer opportunities.
